Many police cars were driving around a school in California because some people got into fights there overnight. The fights happened when some students supporting Palestinians were attacked by other students who disagreed with them. This happened after the police removed some protests against Israel’s conflict with Hamas that had been going on for a few weeks.
At Columbia University in New York City, police were ready in case they needed to stop the protests happening there. Some students were upset to see police wearing helmets at two very important universities.
Mark Torre, who is a student at UCLA and is 22 years old, thinks that there shouldn’t be a lot of police officers on campus. He said this while looking at the area from behind some metal fences.
